Construction of random matrices using orthogonal polynomials
Resumen: Originally, it was proposed random matrices where the entries are real, complex or quaternions. Those three models have very similar eigenvalues distribution, changing only one parameter $\beta$=1,2,4.
It was possible to construct natural random matrices using the theory of orthogonal polynomials, on the real line and on the unit circle.
In this talk I give an introduction to these ideas which are works of Dumitriu and Edelman (2002) and Killip and Nenciu (2004).
